European Research Executive Agency cluster meeting, the presentation of MAELSTROM
The meeting, lasting one morning, allows to know the different European projects dedicated to the problem of marine litter: MAELSTROM is presented during the session Pilot action for removal of marine plastic and litter.
The cluster meeting with the European projects dedicated to the problem of marine litter, organized by the European Research Executive Agency (REA), will be held on June 1, from 8.45 am to 12.00 pm.
The meeting, which takes place in a completely virtual mode, will present twelve different European projects that are dedicated to the mitigation of the problem of marine litter in order to preserve health of ecosystems – and human health. The morning will be divided into five different sessions, followed by a space dedicated to Q&A. Through each session, several issues concerning the various aspects of marine litter will be addressed, from monitoring the sources and distribution of waste to solutions to reduce them, for example through the use of bio-plastics.
Within the meeting, Fantina Madricardo, researcher at CNR-ISMAR and coordinator of MAELSTROM, will also present our project, during the session dedicated to the Pilot action for removal of marine plastic and litter.
